USGS Water Resources -- Marina Field Office

One of many small field offices maintained by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the Marina Field Office collects high quality data to help monitor and manage water resources. A total of 42 continuously operating stream gauges are managed on 26 streams and rivers located in 8 counties from Half Moon Bay in the north to Paso Robles in the south, and from the Pacific Coast, eastward to Interstate 5. Streamflow data are collected via satellite by the Marina Field Office in partnership with 17 cooperating local, state and federal agencies.

The data are used for a variety of purposes including flood warning, climate studies, monitoring stream flow requirements for aquatic organisms, water management, and groundwater aquifer recharge efforts.
